Your weekly DVC briefing—what changed, what matters and what Members should know before the next trip.
Hi {{first_name|there}},
If Kidani Village is part of your holiday plans, this week’s lead story deserves a closer look. The lobby project is running later than first expected, and some early-December guests are being told that two popular public spaces will remain unavailable.
We also have a small Christmas-party extra for eligible Members, two useful Lakeshore Lodge updates and an easier way to order breakfast at the Polynesian.
🦒 Kidani Village Work Extends Beyond the Original November Target
A multi-stage refurbishment of the lobby and nearby areas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village began in August. The original schedule aimed to reopen all affected facilities by November 6.
An October 27 independent report reviewing guest notices says that guests arriving in early December are being told Community Hall and the Palace Library will still be unavailable during their visits. The reported notices direct guests to recreation activities at Simba’s Clubhouse at Jambo House, with transportation available between the buildings. Confirm the arrangements for your dates directly with Disney.
The exact completion date remains unclear. Independent reporting places the Kidani public-area work through late 2026; this date has not been independently confirmed here from a readable official notice. Separately, Disney’s official Jambo House information warns of refurbishment through early 2027, with possible daytime construction noise and alternate walking routes. These are distinct projects, not one shared completion date.
What this means for Members
Early-December guests: Plan on using Jambo House for some recreation activities.
Families relying on Community Hall: Build extra transportation time into resort days.
Anyone sensitive to construction: Expect possible daytime noise and changing paths around public areas.
Before arrival: Recheck your resort notice and call Member Services if an affected amenity is important to your stay.

MY TAKE: This is less about a closed room and more about setting expectations. Kidani still offers its savanna, villas and pool—but families who deliberately schedule resort time should know when part of that plan now requires a trip to Jambo House.

✨ The Week in DVC
Christmas-party Members can claim a surprise keepsake
Independent October 23 reporting says eligible Members attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party can stop at McKim’s Mile House from 6 to 10 p.m. on party nights for a complimentary keepsake, while supplies last. The report says to bring your digital Membership Card and photo ID, and that the lounge interior will not be open for regular use during the party. Separate party admission is required. Confirm current giveaway details and eligibility directly with DVC before planning around this reported offering.
A closer look at Lakeshore Lodge is now inside Hollywood Studios
A detailed model of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is now displayed at Walt Disney Presents. It gives visitors a better sense of the resort’s three wings, waterfront setting and large pool-and-lazy-river complex before the resort opens July 1, 2027. This is a visual development—not a new points chart or booking-rule announcement.
Lakeshore Lodge joins the 2027 water-park benefit
Disney’s official eligible-resort list now includes Lakeshore Lodge for the complimentary water-park benefit in summer 2027. Registered overnight guests can visit Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon on check-in day. Disney has not yet announced the exact eligible dates, and the benefit cannot be moved to another day.
Wailulu breakfast mobile ordering is live
Breakfast at Wailulu Bar & Grill is now listed by Disney as a mobile-order quick-service meal. The Island Tower location serves breakfast from 7 to 10:45 a.m., giving Polynesian guests a more predictable grab-and-go option before heading to the parks.
🧭 One Practical DVC Tip
Treat a refurbishment notice as a planning document—not just a construction warning.
When Disney lists alternate paths, temporary venues or transportation between resort buildings, save that information before arrival. It can affect stroller routes, mobility-device travel, children’s activities and how much time you need before a dining reservation or park opening.
For a stay at Kidani during this project, decide in advance whether you are comfortable shifting Community Hall time to Jambo House. If that amenity was central to your resort day, a call to Member Services now is more useful than discovering the change after check-in.
Your turn
How much resort construction is too much for you? Would the Kidani closures change your plans, or are the savanna, pool and villas enough to keep the stay worthwhile? Hit reply and tell me why.
